Icons and illustrations

With icons and illustrations, we can convey complex ideas in a simple way. The purpose is always to support a narrative or fact, and icons and illustrations should therefore never overshadow the key message.

Our icon and illustration style are geometric and balances sharp edges and round shapes in the same way as our fifth element.

Icons

Icons are simple in composition and should always be used in small sizes – they are not suitable for being scaled up to large sizes.

We use the Sharp Thin icon set from fontawesome.com as our corporate icons. To add Hedeselskabet and Dalgas DNA, we adapt them to our design language and colour palette.

The stroke is coloured Deep Forest, and we fill the most dominant closed space in the shape with the colour Forest.

NB! Wayfinding and signage
For wayfinding and other signage, we use Sharp Light because they are simpler in design than Sharp Thin. Therefore, they are easier to decode from a distance.

Illustrations

Illustrations are more detailed drawings, which due to their complexity should always be used in larger sizes. You can combine illustrations to create infographics that visually appealingly convey processes, services, or similar.

Extra colour tints for shadows

For illustrations, we introduce a darker tone of each colour, which can be used for shadow effects. The colours should only be used for illustrations – and not in other executions.

The shadow colour is defined by adding an extra layer with the same 100% colour on top. The layer is set to Blending Mode: Multiply and Opacity: 50%.
